X-TRAVELLING SERIES #7 ISTANBUL - VIDEO AND SOUND

We live in an age that puts history on stage, and makes it into a show, twisting reality; we see what we’d have liked to see, or we overlay a personal image to what we’ve already seen; “A thousands and one nights” are long gone. “Istanbullasmak” means to become Istanbul, where each of us feels welcome; where familiar views resemble views totally unknown to our memory and experience; its music and tongue sound strange but the more you hear it the more familiar it sounds, heard before…just because this city is a connection, a mix of antique and modern cultures, east and west, now emerging, measuring and influencing one another, thus producing a very lively and rich setting, seldom found in today’s cities.

The wind represents communication, sights, truth; the wind is the co-creator of reality; the inspiring voice; may blow like a cool relaxing breeze or unveil the hidden side of a storm. After obtaining his Master in Design at the POLITECNICO of Milan, David Calafà has been engaged in the professional and personal quest of creating setting that twist together through fashion, design, photography, journeys and documentaries. He contributed to Rivista Studio, Vanity Fair, Costume National, Whiteshow, Marialicci, Twentyfourseven, Nike 6.0, Iuter, David Trubridge Design.
